More Information about Ulster Bank:
The Ulster Bank was founded in 1836, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, by a group of local merchants who wanted a new bank in the city and issued a prospectus in March 1836 to attract subscriptions. They quickly raised sufficient funding and obtained premises in Waring Street, at the commercial heart of the city. The new bank opened to the public, with its first branch in Enniskillen, on 1 July 1836. The company joined The Royal Bank of Scotland Group in 2000.
In 2006, Ulster Bank issued its very first commemorative banknote in tribute to football hero George Best. The response from fans around the world was overwhelming and the limited edition of one million five pound notes sold out in ten days.
Today, Ulster Bank is one of the largest banks in Ireland and provides a comprehensive range of financial services to personal, small business and large corporate and institutional customers across the whole of the island of Ireland - its success firmly rooted in its long and distinguished heritage.
