Abbey mortgages offers best-buy two-year fix

Abbey is offering the best fixed-rate deal on the market for borrowers with a 30% deposit.

The new two-year fixed-rate mortgage from Abbey (www.abbey.com) has taken the top spot on best-buy tables.

This deal is likely to be popular though, so if you’re interested, snap it up before it disappears.

The deal, at 3.69%, is the cheapest 2-year fix on offer at up to 70% loan-to-value. It’s available for purchases and remortgages and comes with a £799 fee.

Chris Eagle, commercial manager at Creditchoices.co.uk, said: “If you want to fix your mortgage rate, and you’re lucky enough to have 30% deposit or equity, this is a great deal.

“It’s likely to be popular, so if you’re interested, snap it up before it disappears.”

Last week Abbey introduced a range of fee-free low-rate mortgage deals for existing current account customers.

Nici Audhlam-Gardiner, director of mortgages at Abbey, said the bank has remained strong this year with around a 20% share of the mortgage market.
