Mastercard are a US company that process payments between the banks of merchants and the banks of purchasers. The Mastercard brand was established in 1966. Mastercard credit cards are accepted worldwide.
What are the Benefits of a Mastercard Credit Card?
Mastercard credit cards afford you such privileges as damage waivers, extended warranties and accident insurance. Some credit cards have an inbuilt ‘Paypass’ feature, which allows you to pay for goods buy pressing your card against a terminal reader at the point of sale.
What else should I know about Mastercard Credit Cards?
- Mastercard has a three tiered system in the UK; cards offered are classed as Standard, Gold or Platinum.
- Gold cards provide superior spending power but are subject to tight acceptance criteria. The same principle applies to Platinum cards.
- Paypass will only allow payments of under £10 at the current time.
