The UK’s most expensive streets with houses sporting price tags over £6m have been revealed.

The average house price on Britain’s most expensive street is £6.6 million.

Belgravia’s Chester Square was named as the most expensive street for the second year after house prices in this exclusive corner of London rose £300,000 in the last 12 months.

Out of the 20 most expensive streets in the UK, all are in London

However, a £6.6 million home may be a bargain as, in 2008 four homes on Chester Square were sold between £12 million and £20 million on Chester Square.

The second most expensive street was Ingram Avenue in NW11 (£6.1 million), just ahead of Courtenay Avenue in N6 (£5.9 million).

Out of the 20 most expensive streets in the UK, all are in London and 12 are located in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, according to research by property listing site mouseprice.co.uk.

A cluster of high price homes was also found around Hampstead and Highgate golf courses in North London.

The average price for the of the top 10 London streets was £5.5m, compared to £676,320 in Wales, £820,200 in the north-east and £856,050 in the East Midlands.

Across the nation, the East Midland’s dearest street is The Ridgeway near Leicester (£1.3m), the north-east’s most expensive road is Gubeon Wood near Newcastle (£1.3m). Heading the list in the north-west was Hale’s Broadway (£2million), just outside Manchester.

In the south-east the most expensive properties were focused around Virginia Water near the Wentworth golf club and Weybridge in Surrey with top prices at £3.8m.

The south-west’s most expensive homes were centred on Poole and Wales’s dearest streets were in Llandudno.
