Charity Credit Cards
What are Charity Credit Cards?
Charity credit cards donate a percentage of each spend to a charitable organisation, the World Wildlife Fund (www.wwf.org.uk), National Trust (www.nationaltrust.org.uk) and British Hearth Foundation (www.bhf.org.uk) all have credit cards that carry their name.
What are the benefits of Charity Credit Cards?
A Charity credit card is a great method of automatically donating to charity while you shop, creating a sense of ‘feelgood spending’. Essentially, you can financially endorse your favourite charity without any cost to yourself (assuming you pay off your full balance each month).
What else should I know about Charity Credit Cards?
- Some charity credit cards donate meagre amounts to charity, as low as 0.1%. It may make more sense to get a cash back credit card, and donate the cash that you receive back on purchases to your favourite cause.
- As credit cards they’re not terrible competitive, often offering high interest levels and average introductory offers.
