There are a number of different things that you need to think about when choosing your airmiles care. As well as the number of points that you'll get for every £1 you spend, you also need to take into account how many points you need to get to your chosen destination. Use our airmiles calculator to help you choose the best value airmiles card.
While you will obviously need to spend on your card to build up points, you should make sure that you always pay your credit card balance off in full every month to avoid paying interest - any interest that you do end up paying will soon cancel out any savings you've made from your airmiles.
You also need to look at the small print of your chosen card - some will make you pay the airport taxes on your flight, while others might add an annual fee, which can be as high as £150 a year.
